Plum Quick and cable upgrade on 2010 Precedent
Yesterday I finished up the Plum Quick and 2 ga. cable upgrade on my 2010 Precedent Excel. I upgraded to 2 ga. cables simply because I had the cable. I picked up some brass hardware to make the pass through for the OBC. There has been much discussion on previous posts about 2 ga. cable going through the hole in the OBC, but the cable I had was much too big to fit through. I used closed end lugs and solder pellets to make the connections on the cables and then used heat shrink tubing over each end.

I like the way you hooked your batteries, same as mine. The cables to the motor don't look like 2 ga.

Re: Plum Quick and cable upgrade on 2010 Precedent
It runs very good. It will do 25 on flat ground with one person. It seems more responsive with the cables, but I cannot say definitively that the cable change made a big difference. I tested the new motor before I put the cables on. I will do some further testing when it dries up and I can get across the yard without getting it to dirty.

Nice clean work BigBlock. Plus crystal clear photos. Some days tidy is as important as fast (especially when troubleshooting).

Re: Plum Quick and cable upgrade on 2010 Precedent
When I changed my cables to the motor I used paint to make them the correct color, Worked good.
Is the motor and cables the only change to the running system? |
