If you have room you can convert to 8 X 6V batteries. Most use 6X8V batteries. Either will work but the 8X6 will add weight and cost to your cart. (And give you more range)

i have a 2008 CC precedent. i will def not keep the 12volt setup but i'd rather go with 6v instead of 8v batts mainly because i can get interstate ones much cheeper then 8v. i was curious if anyone has gone with 8- 6volt batts.

Oh yeah many people have, the two extra batts can go in the bagwell.
You just have to be able to get to them to water them...

BUT...DON'T FORGET, YOU GUYS...the bagwell is not available like the trunk of a car, if he actually golfs with his cart! Sheesh! Anyone would think these weren't actually called GOLF CARTS!

Lol. No I don't use it for golf but good call joesam. I only use it at my campground and a little around the house.

Then the bagwell is like the trunk of a car - as long as your not using it to haul anything else, its a good place for extra batteries. If it were me, I'd make a nice/tidy looking molded type cover for any batteries being stored back there - but that's up to you.

When you look under the seat, does your cart have a console/divider in the middle of your batteries, or are you one of the lucky ones without?

I have no divider and the tow switch is on the back wall. It would be nice if I could fit all 8 under the seat. I was hoping someone had already done this but it seems like everyone uses the 8volt setup.

I don't think the "bucket" design of the Precedent is condusive to 8 batteries - heck, until late 2008, you couldn't really fit six without a bit of skilled carving!
