Drum brake to Ausco disc brake conversion. A lot more cutting and modding than I expected but they look great and the pedal feel is so much better

Since my wife uses her Electric Yamaha almost daily and has five year old, very weak batteries, I swapped hers for my four year old batteries (off my CC DS) to give her a bit more time before having to purchase new ones. Is it my imagination, or does it seem like the price of a battery is going up? Each battery, I pulled out of hers or my cart, I used a dremel with a wire brush and cleaned the battery posts, checked the water level and cleaned the cable connectors. Moving 12 batteries with a messed up hand (putting off surgery until winter) is more painful today than yesterday when I did the actual work. I tested her batteries out in my cart after a full charge and had a very hard time getting home after driving it a few miles. I have a 400amp controller with 22inch rear wheels and from a stop, the cart shuttered before moving. The battery meter would bottom out when I started at each stop sign, and then move back up a bit as I eased off on level ground. Definite time for new batteries. I am going to experiment with obtaining a salvaged electric auto lithium battery pack. It has lower AH ratings than the lead acid but is reported as having an extended longevity compared to lead acid. I was hoping that I could use my powerdrive charger but that won't work according to reporting on the Internet. So, I will purchase a cheap battery rated for lithium and see how it goes. Right now, I am also researching BMS systems to see if I can keep the cells of the battery balanced. Still learning. I do not plan on putting a whole lot of money into it but if I can get as much life from a lithium as a set of lead acid, there are benefits of not worrying about maintaining the water level. To be continued on that subject.

I also replaced my wife's seats with some new, more ergonomic ones that I ordered on-line. Since they are not listed as a site sponsor, I won't mention the name. I got a great deal, with free shipping and she says she rides around with a smile on her face. She tells everyone that it feels and smells like driving a new car. I had just recently replaced her old 8" wheels with 10" wheels and tires and that had already made her pretty happy.
