Default "93" Club Car"...Rough /Hop/Hop Ride

Just bought the unit, totally stock....36 volt ..put on new shocks, brakes, greased and lubed it right to manual's spec....
Was running standard turf tires and there was a noticed roughness/hop-hop when on pavement .../I adjusted "toe" within .2 degree...Still rough..
Jacked up the front spun the wheels ..no wobble.
Put a new set of DOT, stock road tires on it but still has the up/down hop....
if you get over 8 mph you have to hold the steering wheel for dear life.....
Running 18 # of air...
Don't think the axles are out of round or bent ..

-Ideas...??

Yes its better below 15 and too soft at ten....that's the ride...but the Hop/Hop also diminishes ... still there but the intensity of the Hop.Hop is down...

Should I swap the fronts for the rears...???? And if it disappears... play musical chairs till we , ID the bad guy....

that was next swap tires and try to pinpoint if its just 1 tire or 2 or more.......if you can get your hands on another cart to swap all of them and see what happens if it goes away then we know its tire/wheel related and if not than its something else.............................

OK...Got the toe into about .2 degree, but the alignment was off....the rear measurement was 1 inch longer than the front measurement, the tires were pitched in when viewing from the from.....
When I went to make the alignment adjustment and put a wrench on the tie bar nut the hole assembly felt very loose and fragile...so I stopped and ordered a left/right and tie rod assembly
Hope this takes care of the hop/hop/hop//

Have you spun the wheels by hand while the cart was on jack stands? This sounds like a hub or axle problem now.....it may be visible at low speed.

Default Re: Spin Wheels.....???

Yes ..jacked up the front end and spun the wheels ..... mounted a straight edge on each outside....then took a 1/2 drill with a roller and ran the heck out of both front tires....no wobble......took 18 minutes for them to stop spinning...

Of course this is without a vertical load....??

NEXT....???

Can the alignment being off 1 inch be the bad guy...???
