Default cart slow in reverse

Swamp Man back with more questions.

I have a 1984 36 volt club car. New six volt G/C batteries. Car seems to drive ok in forward but reverse is slow and stops after a few feet. It acts like the batteries are dying when in reverse.

What should I look for?

I don't know if I used the correct wiring diagram when I converted it over from three 12 volt batteries to six 6 volt batteries. The diagram I used showed one line from the F/R switch going to a positive post on #4 battery. Is this correct?

. . . properly wired, (f/r reverse wire going to + on #4) reverse should be half speed of forward (for safety) . . . as for it stopping, check your f/r switch for clean/tight connections first . . . then double check the battery orientation of the pack and wire routing between the pack batteries . . . that is a start . . .

If you have 2 positive feeds at the bottom of the F&R you can get full power reverse by eliminating the one that goes to the middle of the pack. Place a short cable or buss bar connecting the 2 bottom terminals together and run a single + feed to the pack main for 36v F&R.
