Default electric club car will not run!

I just purchased a 1997 electric club car carryall 1 that the owner said needed new batteries. With help from other postings on this site I was able to get the charger to charge the batteries. I do not think that was the problem. With the batteries charged to 48 volts it will not go in forward or reverse. Where do I start? Does anyone know where I can get a wiring diagram?

Thank You

does the charger work? have you tried jumping the solenoid to see if it will run..........and just so you know at 48 volts its a dead cart so i would put the charger on let it charge till charger shuts off and take voltage readings a good pack fully charged should read over 55 volts......if not test batteries and load test them........as is does cart do anything when key is on and pedal pressed.......solenoid click?.........if your charger won,t come on try it on another cart if it works you could have a bad OBC...............do you have the lever style or rocker switch for F&R................................

The batteries were at 12 volts when I get the club car. I was able to bring the voltage up to arround 30 volts and the charger kicked on. The charger puts out 53 volts while charging. There could still be some problems with the batteries, but shouldn't the car move with a battery voltage of 48 volts +? where is the solonoid located? Rocker style F & R. With the key on and pedal pressed the car does nothing.

Yes the cart should try.....the solenoid is front and center in the compartment below the F&R switch. Put the cart on jack stands and jumper the large terminals on the solenoid. Now w/ key on, depress the gas peddle...

Is there a run/tow switch on this unit?

I read somewhere about reseting the obc and part of the procedure was to switch from run to tow. I can not find where it would be. With the charger charging at 54 volts I jacked it up and pressed the peddal with the key on and the tire would move just slightly, but only does that once in a while. did some checking on the solonoid. I have the same voltage on each of the terminals. It did nothing jumping acrosss it.

If connecting a jumper wire across the 2 large terminals on the solenoid did nothing then the solenoid is already working...Is this a controller cart? Sounds like a controller problem......where is your solenoid mounted?

That's a good idea. Just because they read 48v ( a reading = to empty) they may not have enough juice at throttle to move the cart considering that they were at 12v collectively when this project started. In other words...these batteries may well be dropping to next to nothing under load.
If the solenoid and the batteries are good and the cart barely tries to move....the obc is bad. Is that the way you see it Tom?
