LED charge indicator is stuck
Hey guys,
I just upgraded to 4 gauge wiring because I upgraded the controller and the solenoid in my 94 DS. The process took about 2 weeks because I had to wait on some parts. I finally got all the wiring right and the controller and solenoid were responding. My charge indicator dropped instantly to the 3rd light from the bottom and I overlooked it and plugged in the charger. The charger came on and ran for about 8 hrs like it always does and then shut off but the LED indicator did not move. All my batteries read a total of 37.4 volts so I don't believe they are the problems. Could the LED indicator be busted somehow, or is there just a simple wiring mistake in there? Thanks, Sumner |

What is the voltage at the back of the meter. May have hooked wire to wrong place.

Or the meter needs to be reset. Bar graph I assume. Charge the batteries until the charger shuts off. Let them sit say 6 hours. Now disconnect the wires to e meter and let it sit a few minutes. Hook it back up and that will reset it. If it still is wrong and the connections are right it is time for a new one.

Depending on the meter I guess. All I have to do to reset mine is, put cart in tow then back to run. That will show a full bar on mine even when the batteries are down.

Re: LED charge indicator is stuck
. . . some meters are self -resetting, though not "instantaneous" . . .

Re: LED charge indicator is stuck
I reset the indicator and it started out at the top and slowly crept down to where it began before the reset. The cables that go from the indicator to the batteries are reading between 35-36V

Re: LED charge indicator is stuck
Well the batteries themselves are reading over 37V. Its just the one cable that runs from the indicator is reading 35.5V by itself. The cable is a little frayed and worn down. Would replacing the cable help the problem? I ran the golf cart today for about 1.5 hours and it ran fine.

Re: LED charge indicator is stuck
If the voltage reading at the back of the meter is lower than the pack voltage, you have some resistance somewhere.. Maybe a bad wire..

Re: LED charge indicator is stuck
I replaced the wire that was going into the battery pack and still no good. Is it possible that one of the wires going into the solenoid or controller is causing the cart to drain?
