Shock tower ?
What kind of metal is the shock tower and control arms made of ? Its an 88 ds but im putting the front end off a 95 on there , was cleaning stuff up to paint and since these parts aren't painted and aren't rusted , I ASSUMED they were aluminum , but a magnet sticks to them so there're not.....not sure what to paint them with now or if I need the self etching primer or not.....

Re: Shock tower ?
I used to think they were aluminum, but I've seen them with rust on them so I'm going to guess they're some type of steel. I don't think you'll need self-etching primer, just something good quality and some good paint over it for protection.

Re: Shock tower ?
Zinc coated steel for corrosion resistance. Pretty high quality spec'd coating. Lasts a long time, but will eventually rust over time.
