charger wont turn on
Hello all, problems are compounding on my '06 DS 48V. Brought charger to local shop about a week ago, they replaced a relay and it charged fine that evening. Yesterday charger didn't turn on again so I brought it back and it bench tested fine. I tried bypassing the obc, (found out about that on this site). When i jump from the receptacle end of the yellow fuse to the main ground I get a click and loud buzz from charger but the needle stays at "0". When I jump from either end of the fusible link( if that's what it is) on the receptacle to the main negative nothing happens, charger doesn't turn on. Am I looking at a bad obc. swapped charger with neighbor and mine worked on his etc. so it's the cart messing up, not the charger.
I tried to reset the obc but the part where when you lock the throttle peddle down my reverse buzzer never sounds, is procedure different for a 2006 DS. sorry this is so wordy but I wanted to be thorough, thanks: |

Re: charger wont turn on
Your OBC control circuit is not working. That's why the charger doesn't "click"-on when you plug it into the cart. When you jump the relay manually by jumping the small fuse to negative you're making the charger turn on. This should be a function of the OBC, but it's not working. The OBC is officially bad because of this. The reason nothing happens when you jump the fusible link to the main negative post is because you're not turning on the charger. You need two jumper wires. One to jump the negative charge wire, and one to jump the control wire. It's just a waste of time at this point though to do more testing. I already know your OBC is bad because it won't turn the charger on by itself.

Re: charger wont turn on
I actually tried to IM you on AIM, it was your procedure I tried to follow. the biggest problem I had was the charger turned on when I jumped the yellow fuse but the needle wasn't showing any amps being drawn...it stayed at zero. was something else keeping the charge from getting to the batteries? I might be overthinking this. The shop was going to pick it up on monday to fix but now I'll change the obc out myself and save the "towing" and diagnostic fees, thanks for your help.
