4G cables would be just fine with a new 500Amp controller and executioner motor. 2G is not necessary, even tho I have them.

My cart is stock, I went from 6G to 2G cables and the only time I noticed an improvement was under load, otherwise just cruising I still do just a tad over 19mph with GPS.
I do plan on upgrading though.

How much speed/torque is lost having a stock controller with a a PQ bandit motor?
