Default Voltage Reducer

I own a 2004 48 volt DS Club car. Ordered and installed a light kit. When installed, the voltage output of the harness was 15.7 volts. I then ordered a voltage reducer. The attached is the only diagram received.

I can’t find any local Club Car repair shop (three locally) that are familiar with the 5 wire voltage reducer. When I showed them the reducer and diagram they all asked the same questions….”what is the red/white control trigger line?” and “Where are the installation instructions?” Obviously the input/output wires are not the issue. Where does the control trigger attach? Are you familiar with this type of reducer? Do you know where I can secure a wiring diagram....HELP!!!!

Not familiar with it and don't blame them for not touching it with no instructions if they aren't familiar with it. But it would seem logical to me that that wire is similar to a low voltage input on an audio amp so that the amp goes off when the source is turned off and comes on when the source is turned on. If that's the case, you would need something that would put voltage on that wire in order for the reducer to turn on. Not sure if you could hook it to the key switch or something and that would suffice or not. Otherwise, you could run a wire from your batteries and put an inline switch so that you can manually turn it on and off. I would recommend doing something like that even if you didn't have the extra wire. I didn't go with a reducer because I was afraid someone would forget to turn it off. So, I wired all my access. to a dedicated 12v battery instead.

. . . the "trigger" wire attaches to the "cold" side of the ignition switch . . . when the ign switch is turned "on", the "trigger" wire turns the reducer on . . . when ign switch is "off", the voltage reducer is also "off" . . .

Where'd you order that one from? That would simplify have to wire in a relay.
