Default Is my cart IQ ?

I have a 2008 Precedent, I just installed new 6volt batteries and cart was working great but now only drives very slow. I odd the speed sensor test and the buzzer sounds but no braking so I'm guessing my speed sensor crapped out. I want to order a new speed sensor and high speed magnet I think my cart is an IQ but how do I tell ? Also how do I tell which motor I have ?

I believe the Precedents are IQ carts, I also believe they are 48 (six 8volts) volts. Did you put six 6 volts in it = 36volts?? Im guess you goofed and bought the wrong batteries, you need six 8 volt batteries and not six 6 volt ones, you are under powering it.

Give us the serial number and that will give us a lot of info on your cart if its all original.

Motor can be identified by speed sensor, also color, the grey one is a GE and the black ADC, you should probably have an ADC with that year.

I put 8 6volt batteries in it mainly because I was able to get them cheaper. The cart came with the 12volt setup. Serial# is PQ0838-963492. I just bought it last fall and I'm trying to get it ready for the camping season.

Yes, you have on IQ. He put in 8x6v to increase the run time of the pack.

Gotcha! Wasn't sure if he just went with 6! Id check to make sure you linked them up right and actually have 48 volts.

The only way the controller knows to turn the buzzer on is because it is getting a signal from the speed sensor.... It seems like something else is preventing the regen from engaging, or maybe the magnet is broken sending bad data. How far do you have to push it before the buzzer sounds? And does it keep sounding steady without any motor braking as you continue to push?

Looks like I have a IQ with a ADC motor. Thanks for the help guys. Beerman I do have 48volts I double and triple checked that before hitting the tow/run switch. The cart was a wiring nightmare when I bought it but I got it for short $ and cleaned everything up. Hopefully the speed sensor fixes my current problem.

Check your magnet first, like stated above the speed sensor seems to be "sensing" LOL ! Or just order the high speed one and replace your existing one. That could be your issue.
