Default New controller for series CC Ds 48V

Going to go to a new controller in my series DS cart. Suggestions please. Looking for 25-30 mph in a cart for my wife. Haven't decided on a motor yet, so I am up in the air here. I have a 2ga wire set from Scotty in the mail.

Thanks,

M

Well I saw the Sepex/Series standoff explode on your last post (knew that would happen, eventually). In terms of simple Bang for Buck, since its a "road cart" in FLA (and I'm a tad cheap) stock controller, 2 ga cables, Bandit & 8:1 gears. I believe the added torque of Bandit and cables will suffice in your application with your current controller.....but that's just me. Of course I'm assuming no wheelie contests or mud bogging.

I know an "Advanced" motor was suggested also - just not familiar with it (or the eventual cost with all the added stuff req'd). Also saw a link to EMP - might be worth calling them also.....you never know.

Not sure what you are talking about.

Go to Plum Quick, they have a series motor that does over 30 mph. Get a controller from them also, end of story.

Somebody must be snowed in - 150 posts last week with advice from batteries to motors including build lists . All this knowledge gained from owning one stock cart and a keyboard. Or am I mistaken?

Snowed in but helping friends locally also. Not trying to offend.

Pick a motor, then pick an appropriate controller. The controller isn't going to give you any speed.

I think I posted it on one of your other threads but I just built a cart for my uncle. He needed 25 mph or more for Sandedtin resort.

2001 series DS w/ MCOR
Alltrax SPM 400 amp controller (460 max)
GE D380 motor
4ga cables
205/50-10 wheels tires
24-26 mph

This cart has a heavy duty rear seat with diamond plate and grab bar so that may add a little more weight than usual. When I test drove it with no seat, top or windshield I was seeing around 27 consistent

Would it be good to get a programmable controller?
