MPH Report for 2003 DS series cart
I got a new series cart a couple of weeks ago. I have a nice stretch of flat level road about 3/4 mile long. Test with a Garmin GPS. Thought I would report my findings to help folks if possible. I also donated to this forum since they have been so much help.
1 - I bought used cart it ran 12.4 mph. 2 - I upgraded the 11 year old batteries with T875s ------ Charged new batteries @ 51.2 volts 3 - Ran around the the neighborhood ran 15.4 mph on test road ------ charged batteries -------- @ 49.9 volts 4 - I change rear axle lube with 30 SAE Synthetic it ran 16.6 mph ------ charged batteries -------- @ 50.0 volts Next will be wire change to 2 gauge battery wire kit from Scotty. Following a HD switch. Then will be a motor from PQ. Then it may be a controller & solenoid depending on outcome. Thanks all !! M Stand buy |

Re: MPH Report for 2003 DS series cart
Installed all 2 ga cables except Neg to controller. It has not arrived yet.
- Cart ran 17.4 MPH. Seems like better torque for sure. Motor arrives today. HD switch and cable next week. M |

Re: MPH Report for 2003 DS series cart
- Installed new HD F-R switch. Cart ran 16.6 mph. I really liked the HD switch. Much better than stock.
- Installed new PQ motor just now. The cart ran 21.2 mph. I have the last battery cable coming in soon, but I am pretty sure that is not going to help much. So my wife's cart is shy of her goal of 25-28 mph. So from here going to figure out which controller. PQ said if I put on a good 400-500 amp controller I should have better torque with the motor which would be nice. M |

Re: MPH Report for 2003 DS series cart
We have the same cart InVison, right down to the same color Lol. Mine is still stock and use it for hunting pigs at night. It has been a pretty good cart and never given me a problem driving around fields at night. I use night vision to see where I'm going and look for pigs.
I don't need to go faster, I rarely go much faster than walking speed but more torque would be nice. Thanks for posting your results. gives me an idea where to start. |
