Cart running very slow
I had the speed sensor on my car fail. I replaced the speed sensor and magnet. The car ran great for 3-4 days. Now the cart runs very slow with no torque. I pulled the new speed sensor off and the magnet has worn a grove in the speed sensor exposing metal in the speed sensor.. Could this be causing the slow speed? My batteries are 2 years old and test good.

Re: Cart running very slow
It sounds like now your in limp mode? I dont think your speed sensor is working properly now. Did you install the magnet correctly? Lets see some pics.

Re: Cart running very slow
I am not home at this time to take pictures of install.
In limp mode I would be running app 8 mph correct? I am not running near that. maybe 2 mph. I tested the cart again using the motor brake test and it indicates that the speed sensor has not failed again. The carts beeps when rolling down hill and the motor brake slows the cart down. The cart does not start off fast and then slow at 8mph. it takes off very slow and stays running very slow. |

Re: Cart running very slow
This should not happen. The magnet shouldn't be close enough to the sensor to touch it. I'd like pictures of this as well.

Re: Cart running very slow
I've never seen anything like this in my life. Is this an OEM speed sensor? OEM magnet? They should not touch each other.

Re: Cart running very slow
Looks like the motor shaft has shifted. Maybe a bearing retainer or something.

Speed Sensor, Club Car Golf Cart DS IQ & Precedent with ADC motor only ( item: 271250000713 transaction: 1266195734017 )
Paid on Mar-16-14 $64.85 Free 1 $64.85 Standard Shipping Estimated delivery: Tue. Mar. 18 - Mon. Mar. 24 Bought off of E-bay. magnet and speed sensor The original speed sensor that failed did not have any scarring. This leads me to believe maybe the new magnet is not running true or the speed sensor is not bored true. What I do not understand is if the scarred speed sensor is working enough to engage the speed brake during a run away why is it not allowing the cart to accelerate or run faster than 1mph. |
