Reverse only

I upgraded to a HD switch on my 2003 Club Car DS series cart. Now it only runs in reverse, no forward. Before I put the old switch back on any hints what this might be?

Is the micro switch made in Forward?

You probably have the A2 & S2 wires from the motor reversed at the FNR switch.

Yes the 1st micro switch engages when in forward. I verified that.

When you say engage did you test the voltage or just hear it click?

I reversed the A2 & S2 and now it goes forward when in reverse.

I used an ohm meter to test switch.

Then sounds like a problem with the new F&R switch itself

I thought it was A2->S2 when in reverse, but it must be A2->S1.

Switch those wires back, then switch A2 & S1.

Basically whichever wire A2 is connected to when the FNR is in reverse (original wiring before swapped), is switched with the other wire it is connected to.

Edit: make sure you follow all those wires back to the motor before trying it again, that is most likely the problem.

Ok I tried everything to no avail. I even put the old micro switches back on. No forward.

I then put everything as it should be with the new switch. Still no forward only reverse.

So my wife can up with an idea. So we rolled the thing down the driveway and put in reversed and floored it all the way up the driveway. Then we put in forward and it worked just fine.

Don't have a clue.
