Default New Pioneer Radio Install...Wont completely shut off?

I just finished re-wiring all my 12v accessories, installing a 8" Polk DB sub, and new Pioneer x6600BT radio, and 12v fuse block for each accessory.

I previously had a Kenwood and when the source button is held down then it would completely power down. This isn't the case with the Pioneer, it goes to a Clock screen instead of powering off and is still lit up. I've been wiring audio systems for a long time and I'm assuming its just how Pioneer does their "off" on their radios when the red wire is a constant 12v.
My Yellow and Red wires are connected together because I don't have a "switched" ignition that sends 12v power to turn the radio on. I've only used 2 Kenwood's in my cart and they turn completely off.

I cant use the CC switch since its 48V, just wondering any more ideas before I return the radio and get another Kenwood??

Thanks

you could get a 48 volt relay to switch the radio on and off with the key

Wes350X,

I have a Mad jax 48 to 12v reducer. I have it wired to my key switch so that it only comes on when the key is on and powers everything, lights & Radio. Your key swiitch is 48 volt? Yes I lose all my presets but I really don't care, just don't want any trickle usage. I wonder how much the clock pulls when not in use? So a Precedents key switch is 48 volt? I didn't know that, my radio is a Sony marine. Steve

I'm trying to stay away from voltage reducers and pulling from my pack, reason I put a separate 12v battery. I'm curious about the 48v relay though, any more information on that?
The pioneer stays almost all lit up with the clock in when on the Off position, I knows it's got to pull some juice from the batteries when not used for a while.
Yes the key switch is 48v also.

Thanks

Try pressing the power button and holding it down for a few seconds. That should put it to sleep.

you could just put a small toggle switch inline with the red wire to cut it off. That way its like cycling the key cylinder in a car.

That's the issue I'm having, It wont. Since the 12v constant and the acc turn on (red) are together it will not, unlike my previous Kenwood radios.

I'm trying to avoid anymore switches if possible.

Or this one from a site sponsor and cheaper...

Wire the relay coil from pack negative to +48v cold side of key switch.
Wire your radio red wire through the NO contacts of the relay.

that looks like a relay for a battery charger. you need a relay where the coil operates on 48 volts. just type in 48 volt relay in Google. I did a quick look some relays came up
