OBC Cable stud kit?
Spring is almost here in NE MN..sort of...but I need to get my cart ready..Its a 2003 CC. Over the winter, I bought new batteries. I also bought new cables (4ga), an HD F/R switch and a digital battery guage. All from Scotty B. All the cosmetics are done, now its time to tackle the electronics.
The instructions for the F/R switch and the new cables are pretty self explanatory but the OBC cable stud kit has me confused. Where in the heck does it go? It came free with the cables (Thanks Scotty!) but I have no idea what it is or where it goes. thanks for any help...pics would be flippin awesome! |

Re: OBC Cable stud kit?
I don't have any pics, but it goes through the OBC. Follow the main negative cable and you will see it...

Re: OBC Cable stud kit?
The main negative cable goes from the battery pack to the controller B- terminal.... this cable goes through the OBC as shown.
Cut the old cable end off to remove it. Install the stud through the computer in the hole where the cable was. Now install your 2 new cables that go from the battery main - to the OBC stud and from the other side of the OBC stud to the controller B- |

Re: OBC Cable stud kit?
I just put mine on. It goes thru the OBC as shown. Make sure to reset the OBC and charge the batteries until the charger shuts off.
Thanks, M |

Re: OBC Cable stud kit?
Thanks all. Is there an order in which I should be doing this? Cables, F/R, obc, and batts? Does the OBC reset by its lonesome or is there something I have to do? Sorry for all the questions but I have never even looked at the "business end" until lately....

Re: OBC Cable stud kit?
you can make your own, that's what I did. got a 3" stud and fender washers from Lowes building materials and the nuts. the bolt is 5/16" by 3" long, also got some 1- 1/2" rubber washers to use against the obc, just don't tighten to tight against the obc.
