Id say its a substantial upgrade from if it had been a 36 volt. Id say $500 is easily worth it. You did say you wouldnt mind getting a little dirty!

I found Trojan T-875 8V batteries for $186 at the nearest dealer. Would that be a decent set to put in?

Great battery, but oh my god! That's effing ridiculous! ! I dont pay retail so im not up on all the recent prices but I didnt think they were more than $130. I pay $95 each for napa's.
