The neg is the neg for everything. Neg does not have a voltage assigned to it. The pos wire is where you get the voltage 12 or 36, 48. So the main pack neg is good for the 12 volt or the 36, 48 volt neg. if it is handy to where your reducer is mounted you can pull your neg from the neg block on the back side of the battery bay. That way you don't have a connector at the battery to get corroded.

was thinking the same thing, you have 12 volt batteries or 8 volt batteries to get 48 volts in your cart, so your 12 volts for your lights can not be hooked to two batteries, a 48 volt CC with factory lights comes from the factory with a 48v to 12v converter

. . . factory light kits typically come with a 16v to 12v reducer . . .

The 12V ground from the reducer gets hooked up to the 12V negative on your light kit. That way the ground runs back through the reducer to the main 48V neg on the cart.

If you use a fuse block with ground terminals, run the 12V negative from the reducer to the main ground post on the fuse block, then your ground from the light kit will plug into one of the negative terminals on the fuse block.

If it all ready has a factory reducer just wire this one in its place, except the main hot would go to 48v......
