Default Need to slow cart down!

I realize this is the opposite of most threads here but here goes. I bought a 1995 Club Car DS 48 volts for my grand kids. I cannot tell you how fast it will run now but I can tell you its way too fast for the kids (I'll guestimate 22-23 mph). As far as I can tell, it is a stock cart with stock tires. Other than putting blocks under the accelerator pedal it there some adjustment to slow it down?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Other than something to block the pedal from traveling all the way, I can't think of any easy way to do it. I do know though that a 48 volt cart with stock tires won't do 23 MPH, to go that fast it would've had to have been modified in some way, likely either a high speed motor or a 36 volt motor bolted in running on 48.

I might be way over on the speed, I really don't know. I do know it is way too fast for the kids.
Thanks

Not sure but you might be able to adjust the linkage on the rod so it don't go full throttle.....

Not sure what you have but a resistor in series with the throttle might work.

If this cart uses a half-speed switch on the F-N-R switch for reverse, simply wire up a switch to activate this. This way, you can switch it into slow for them, but easily use it in fast when you want to.

And don't let the kids see what you're doing to make it go faster!

What he said. If you look at the three switches on the back of the FnR lever there should be a green, black and white wire. If you disconnect the white and tie black and green together you will have half speed. With a DPDT switch you can wire it to have either but hide it. Kids are sneaky

If you going to use half the batteries just wire them 3 in parallel get half the speed twice the runtime.

You get half speed by putting a resistor in the throttle circuit. System still needs full voltage to operate correctly. Having the voltage would pretty much double the current and melt most of the cables.
