Default F/R differences

First of all let me say that Im not very bright when it comes to electrical stuff. That said, I am in the middle of replacing my stock F/R switch with one from Scotty B. Outside of the microswitches, there appears to be 4 main connections. On my old one, 2 are on one side of the switch and 2 on the other. On the new one, there appears to 3, all on one side, unless the two on one side go under the two nuts.

I can take pics and post them if that makes my questions any clearere.

I am thoroughly confused. The instructions from Scotty B is shows connections to M-. Does that mean the negative on the motor?

Sorry about the questions, but I don't have anyone "local" that can help me with this.

Thanks.

It appears to me that the new switch is the wrong one. The new switch you have is for a 36v Club Car DS with resistor coils. The old switch is the correct one for a 48v CC DS

The good news it is just a mechanical switch, so as long as the electrical connections are correct, it does not matter where the cables are connected.
There was a thread last year where we posted four different ways to connect the FNR switch.
If your cart follows the diagram crash posted, then the picture #11 in the stickies (from scottyb) should be a 1 to 1 wire placement:
Electric Club Car wiring diagrams

Please note you have to connect the 2 bottom posts together, and M- is the only cable that goes to the controller.

Well, heres what I did....I took one wire at a time, held the two F/R switches side by side, and connected the wires to the terminals that appeared to match. This should work, right?
