New Solenoid question
I have a FSIP Curtis 500a controller on a 2010 CC Precedent Excel, I just purchased a new 400a solenoid. In the directions for the controller, http://www.fsip.biz/Documents/62-126...structions.pdf , It says to remove the resistor from the solenoid. On the directions from the new solenoid it says to add a resistor and a diode. Do I add them to the solenoid or leave them off? Here are the directions for the resistor. resistor-_-diode-instruction-web.jpg

Re: New Solenoid question
this is a good one for scottyb ..
as i read it you remove the resistor to allow the walk away relay to work .. a relay would be the same as a resistor in preventing arc and spikes so my guess .. remove resistor and leave diode ... just a guess so wait for scottyb |

Re: New Solenoid question
Its weird, the instructions for the controller say to take it out and the instructions for the solenoid say put it in. I sent scottyb a msg, we'll see what he says.

Re: New Solenoid question
Who is David? I got the controller from PlumQuik with the motor. I could call FSIP on Monday morning.

Re: New Solenoid question
The contacts probably can handle the load and they are removing it but making a call is always good insurance.

Re: New Solenoid question
I read it to take it off the old one and put on the new one. Was there a new resistor supplied? There is a lot lost in translation so you got to know what it means.
