Default 2000 DS series upgraded and no increase in torque

I have bought 6 8 volt crown 190 batteries, 4 gauge cable set, spm 48400 400 amp controller, hd f/r switch and 200 amp solenoid. I expected the cart to climb a small incline on a paved road without slowing down. More amps to motor should equal more torque. The cart is lifted with 22" tires with rear seat. I did not upgrade motor because I read on forum that stock motor would get increased torque from the upgrades I did. I get 14 mph pulling about 50 amps down the road and it slows down to 11 mph pulling about 70 amps going up a slight incline. I know what is next. I am thinking a plum quick bandit would do the trick. Any thoughts are welcomed.

You might give us a slight hint were you live because a slight incline means two different things depending if live in FL or WV. Did you have any gains from these mods? 14mph sounds slow.

10% to 20% grade. The increase rises maybe 6-8 feet over a 50 feet of length.

Here are a few things to consider. Torque is to get you off the line After gaining speed the torque decreases and the HP increases(to a limit) and your speed increases. You mentioned your up to speed current rating was 50 amps that equates to 3.3HP. With PQ they remove all the limitations CC has built. So I would say you probably would get a flat land speed increase. But don't expect any big speed increases going uphill that's where the HP part comes in. With my 2010 Precedent I get 28mph flat land. 15 uphill. BUT don't believe me call PQ. A nice bunch of people and a quality product.

It is the nature of the electric motor to slow some when loaded suddenly, the amount would be the difference. I upgrade from 6g wired to 2g wires and that was the only difference was the ability to recover from a load. The PQ bandit I don't think will gain you the torque your looking for, it may help but I suspect from your writings that it won't be as much as you would expect. Take it one step farther and get a properly fitted motor for your needs. Did you upgrade all of the cables, batteries and to the controller, solenoid and motor?

One thing about an electrical system, you can't upgrade parts of a system and expect full potential, the first restricted point will determine your results. You're close but make the full upgrade and be done with it, just do your homework and talk & read about what your expecting or need.

YES Call PQ, you have lots of information here to read but Call them and be thorough in explaining what you have and what you need. They will size your motor accordingly. I've read lots about cart motors lately and what PPL are using you can go through one of the sponsors here like scottyB or PQ to get what you need.

With a four seater I would say 5HP. Get much larger and you get into run time battery issues. I've noticed the CC Villagers come with a 5HP motor.

a bandit motor upgrade will not give you the torque that you feel your lacking. there is fine balance between speed and torque. the problem I see is a little bit of a under size controller. the bandit will give you that extra 5 mph but will still fall short on hills with only 400 amps.
