Default 1990 club car DS vglide works only at top contact

Good afternoon. This club car DS will only run at the very top contact on the vglide. When it does make contact there is a big ark and it has messed up the wiper part of the contact. What am I looking for on this oldie Goldie. Thank you for the help ahead of time.

Sounds like you are looking for a new V-glide, Grampa.

Can we get a year and voltage please? V-glides were used in multiple configurations, so it would help us to know what one.

Looks like Scottyb is right then, (like always ) sounds like the V-glide is fried.

OK I will get one coming.it was just weird that it was crossing all the contacts but would not run until the top contact. Then it made a big arc when it got to the top.

Might also check the resistor coil for a broken coil?

Resistor coils look fine. Put me v glide on and nothing on the lower contacts. Only takes off at top contact. What else can I be looking for?

This is just me thinking out loud, but isn't the top contact the one that bypasses all the coils and puts juice right to the motor for top speed? If so, then your coils or something in the wiring going to them is causing the problem.
