No, Jakesnake is correct....Voltage equals speed. Volts equals Motor RPM, since Speed is determined by the Motor RPM, Voltage = Speed. This is why your cart is so fast when it is just charged and slows down when you have been driving it for awhile...its because it is losing voltage and essentially loses speed.

I got a good speed increase by installing high speed gears. I think they are a 7:1 ratio.
