Angry Something is slipping

on my 2004 club car ds something is slipping when I take off at full speed.
If I mash the pedal slowly it seems to run fine. if I mash the pedal hard,
something in the rear is slipping BUT it doesn't sound like metal. I also smelled something like rubber. any help would be great. I have no idea about these carts. please help.

I've never seen anything on an electric golf car actually "slip".

Would "chattering" be an acceptable term?

the cart will not go if I mash the pedal all the way. the motor sounds like its turning but will not move the cart. but if I take off slowly it works fine

there is no chattering, its doesn't sound like metal grinding, its more of a jerking shaking sound around the motor.

Welcome to BGW. How old are the batteries, whats the pack volts? and each battery volts ?, when is the last time you charged the cart before you drove it? what make batteries do you have?, how often do you charge it? how low/volts do you run the battery pack down before you charge?

Jerking works.... that's what I was describing. It's a sign of low voltage. That's why it doesn't happen when you slowly increase throttle. A sudden drop of voltage such as when you push the pedal to the floor is too much for the battery pack to handle and it causes the jerking you're describing. Take a voltage reading of the entire battery pack with a multimeter.
