Default Club Car too slow for me!

Yesterday while I was coming home from our clubhouse my wife and I (275lbs total) were passed going up a steep hill by a Starr with 4 passengers like we were standing still.

I emailed Plum Quick to see if they knew of a cart mechanic in Ga that can swap out my motor and still I have not heard from them. I will call them Monday.

Local cart places look for $1600 to upgrade the CC precedent 2010.

Thanks

Well I am in the same arena. Is your cart a regen or series? Tahoe can recommend what to do to your cart to increase torque and speed. Be careful it is addictive. if already a 48v then look at motor replacement. If at 36v then look at scotty's conversion.

Hi

My 2010 CC precedent 12 excel. Serial # PH1020097947 6 8V. 48

Stock 8" tires 1 yr old Trojan 875's

Code 4 speed approx 19.6 mph flat Regan stops it from going any faster of course.

Tried to e- mail Plum Quick to find out if they had a dealer near me in Hoschton
Ga. So far no reply.

I am unable to take out motor myself

Any thoughts

Thanks

Alan

That Star cart could have been an LSV. If it was, they paid a lot of money for that performance. Different class of vehicle so apples to oranges trying to compare it to yours. Star also sells carts with AC motors. The AC powered carts don't slow down on hills much if at all, even when loaded. This is also true of the EZGO RXV which is also an AC powered golf cart. When set to 19.6 mph they are the same as you but they don't slow down on the hill at all so it appears you are barley moving when they go by. They are like this in STOCK configuration. I get passed by them all the time on hills.

So the question is what to do about it. If it was me, I would contact David Hicks as crash test dummy suggested in post #2. He even gave you the link. I think he's expecting to hear from you. All you have to do is explain what happened and what you want to do. Keep in mind speed is not cheap. I don't know if you can ever get a DC cart to climb hills like an AC cart but if it can be done with a Club Car Mr Hicks can tell you how to do it.
