Default A word to the wise !!

Folks when you buy a cart with kit installed, check the under carriage very carefully. We had a noise when we approached the gutter up to the driveway, kind of a creaking sound. I completely check the lift kit and found that 2 of the 5 bolts in the front end which attached the kit to the frame were not installed. Installed the missing bolts and now solid as a rock.

It is always a good idea to do a complete pre-flight of every bolt under your cart, especially when you did not install.

Be safe !!

Oh goodness CTD did I do something wrong again?? Sorry it might be obvious to seasoned folks like you, but since a few of us are novices I thought I might mention it.

Ok thanks. My wife just drove the cart and said it seemed much better. It made a noticeable difference. Hoping my experience may help a fellow cart-er !!

A regular look-over is good to do,no matter how long you own a cart.Small issues can become catastrophic failures quickly in the right circumstances, especially if you run it hard.

I agree completely. I bought mine from a dealer who rebuilds them for street carts. Supposedly they checked it over before delivery. I had all intentions of a frame off restoration so I used it for a couple of months last fall before starting the rebuild. When I started I removed the front body and went right to the suspension. Much to my surprise right front kingpin nut was not even finger tight.
Check every nut and bolt early on.

I just checked my Jake's double A-arm suspension a few days ago and found the center grade 8 bolt head was sheared off. The top leaf spring had shifted to one side. A quick trip to lowes and I'm back in business.
