jumping solenoid
I am working on a 1992 club-car 36V model. I just replaced the v-glide assembly and the solenoid. I can't get the solenoid to fire. I tried jumping the solenoid and putting it in reverse it did nothing, putting it in forward it sparked like crazy with the jumper connected. am i doing something wrong? Is the solenoid bad? Any help would be appreeciated.

Re: jumping solenoid
With the cart on jack stands......check to see that you have 36v+- at one side of the large terminals. Now key on, cart in gear, press the gas, the 2 small terminals of the solenoid should read one positive and one negative.
When this happens the solenoid should click closed an complete the circuit. If no power at the small terminals check your micro switches at the F&R P.S. Did the cart run proir to your changing these parts? If not what was the original complaint? |

Re: jumping solenoid
the original complaint was the cart wouldn't run. I found the v-glide wiper arm to be broken. i replaced the wiper arm and shortly after that the new wiper arm shoorted out. i replaced the entire v-glide assembly and now the solenoid will not fire. Do you have a wiring diagram for the 92 club car for the f&r switch and solenoid?

Re: jumping solenoid
You will find it in the stickies at the top of this section ( where you went to first start this post)
There is a micro switch in the V- glide. Is it working? |

Re: jumping solenoid
the microswitch is working in the v-glide assembly. When i tested the solenoid i put my volt meter on the two big posts and got 37 volts. The weird thing is i am getting 36 volts on either side of the two small posts.

Re: jumping solenoid
I have a 1998 48v. After replacing selonoid and resister and diod i finaly brought it to work for the electrician to "Fluke out" We found that the OBC was not grounding. I had to run a ground wire from the small negative post of the selonoide to a ground. Cart runs great! I dont know if I bypassed the OBC when doing this but ill charge it in small dose's. I need it to get my father in the woods to hunt! after season i will replace OBC.
Thanks god for Meter's and ppl who can use em.... |
