I now have tried 5 different resistors for speed reduction. Windshield on and up. Full charge.

No resistor ~ 33 mph
2.4K Ohm ~ 28 mph
2.7K Ohm ~ 27 mph
3.4K Ohm ~ 24 mph
3.6K Ohm ~ 24 mph
4.2K Ohm ~ 20 mph

The slow down is not really linear.

This really worked well. My wife likes the 20 mph best and that is where it will stay.

Another note is that when you switch to full speed while cruising, the higher the resistance the more it feels like a TURBO BOOST mode.

On to trying to get the turn signals to work.

Here is the setup I ended with that gave me 60% of full speed.

Thanks,

This is very cool and glad it worked, but why not simply give your wife advice on how to drive the cart safely?

Not just my wife but her friends, my in-laws, etc.

This cart is extremely fast and there is a world of difference between going 34 mph and 20 mph in a cart. It is great to have the reserve if I need it.

Do you have that switch hidden? Or did you want it handy so you could use it on the fly.

Right now it is not hidden. My intent is to put it on a keyed switch.
