OK. I got that sucker out. I think there's a cart shop around here. I assume they can test it there to confirm it is in fact bad. Thanks all for your help. I'll probably need you during the resinstall to make sure my rewire is right. Haha

Hey ! I like old sparkys too...flame , melted cables , and an exploding battery (after the lead post melted before my eyes) have not discouraged me.....

Nothing gets the 'ol adrenaline pumping quite like watching a battery post melt, that is of course unless it's flames and smoke out of your battery compartment.


AEROCKER, update us when you get a new one and let us know if it fixes the problem. Lots of cool ideas on here for carts, but be careful. Once you catch the sickness there's no turning back!

Just brought new one home. It was bad.. as if you couldn't tell. Now how does new one go in. No markings on it

Orientation doesn't matter, just so you get the same wires in the same positions as before. Those pics you took make good reference material.

I just need to make sure about the batteries. All are pos to neg. Green wire from f/r goes to positive on#3 battery right?

Yep, but you can put the green wire on the positive of #6 for full speed reverse. All having it on the positive of #3 does is give you 18 volts for half speed reverse.
