Default wiring help

Got a question. I am replacing my battery cables on my 2005 club car precedent and one of my cables is passing through a small grey box.(see pic) My question is what is it, why is the cable going through there and does it have to(can I route it around). Also is it ok to replace all but this cable? Thanks in advance.
Gabriel

That is the OBC, and for your stock charger to work you have to have that wire going through it. Are you upgrading the size of your cables? If so, check out Scottyb's site (cartsunlimited.net) for his OBC bolt, which allows you to remove the factory wire and run a bolt through and attach the new larger wires on each end.

And try to keep the squirrels out of your cart, they can wreak havoc on wiring.

So will it hurt to upgrade all the wire but that one until I can get the bolt here?

Nope, it's done all the time - just be sure to remember and upgrade that wire with the bolt once you get it because that one stock wire will now be the weakest link in the wiring chain.
