Default Help with Brakes

Hey all. Was hoping I could get some help with my 48V DS brakes. The cart has an 8" lift with 25" tires on it. I have never changed lines or anything. When I hit the brakes, the right tire locks up. If I hit the brakes real light, the pedal gives me a lot of pressure back up. How can I correct this?

Check out your axle u bolt tightness. A common problem with lifted carts is that the U bolts will loosen over time with the extra forces a which bigger tires and a lift put on them, and when you hit the brakes this lets the axle rotate forward slightly. That, in turn, pulls the brake cables tight and causes the brakes to lock up.

Doesn't just happen on lifted carts either - I just fixed a stock cart with the same problem - I replaced the old rusted U bolts with new ones and got 'em tight, and now there's no more brake grab.

It's a pretty common problem with lifted CC's!
The axle twists slightly when braking! (been there, done that!)
It's a good possibility that the axle U bolts stretched a little,
Run it 2 or 3' in reverse, hit the brake, and park it right there!
Slightly loosen (one side at a time!)... then, equally retighten the axle U bolts! that should fix it!

93 beat me to it!
