![]() Well a long story but I will try to be concise. I have a what seems to be tires out of balance. I decided to rotate front to back and see if it changed any. It did not change, but I also wanted to check tires out of round so I spun the tires on the front to see if they were round. They were but I noticed that the tire only spun a couple of revolutions. Hmmm. So I pulled the cap of the hub and found the problem. Never serviced since 2003, caked and hard grease. No worries I will just pull and re-pack. What a difference. Here is the rub. I did a check run and now the cart goes 24.3 mph on the test run. Was clocking consistently 22.1 mph. Now I will have to raise the Ohms another 500 or so on the speed reducer to slow the puppy back down to 20 mph. I have not tested at full speed yet, but I suspect it will not be as much gain above 33 mph mark. So I do have one question. Do folks balance Cart tires? I ride on the streets and have relatively smooth tread tires. Can they be balanced at the local tire shops? M

![]() Funny i was thinking about that, I have grips but really the tires are relatively small and these carts don't go that fast, I don't feel vibrations and the tires don't seem to ever wear. They probably dry rot befor I wear them out.

![]() this will balance them. I use airsoft .20 gram ammo, it works great & is cheap. They won't rust like bb's that some people use. 23" tires would need 5oz each.

![]() So I shoot my tires? ![]() So folks put beads in the tires and they balance? New on on me. I was thinking that the tires had tubes and were not tubeless. I have not unmounted the tires, YET. Could not tire service shops just spin balance them with stick on weights? M

![]() I know you can mount them on the old bubble style balancer and balance them, I just don't think you need to unless you need to go 80mph! :)

![]() Balancing helped me out quite a bit. One wheel was off balance by 2.5 ounces. It helped even at 10 to 15 mph. At 35 plus mph it is very noticeable. My local tire shop was glad to help. They didn't even charge me anything other than a few rides up the street.

![]() Well ok, I didn't get those results. Could be the wheels and tires.
