precedent no reverse

I bought an 06 precedent that ran fine when I test drove it but a couple of days after I get it home the reverse has stopped working. Forward is fine but switch to reverse and the buzzer comes on but when I press down on pedal it doesn't move. I hear solenoid click and a few seconds later it clicks off. serial number is PQ0503-474774
Battery's are not great but I have fully charged them and intend on replacing them soon.

IN a sepex drive cart (which this is) the controller does the directional change. It could be a controller failure. Test the F&R rocker switch to see you are getting signal through it in both directions... check for poor or loose connections on controller and motor. We assume the solenoid clicks in both directions - the cart just wont go reverse?

Yes the solenoid clicks in both directions. It just clicks when in reverse holds very briefly, then unclicks. I have a multimeter, can i connect it to motor and check the volts. I assume the small wires will reverse polarity but do the larger ones reverse as well? I was gonna put it on jack stands tomorrow and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the help, scotty b.
