I would probably cut that wire and put an amp meter on that wire, then charge and run it noting the meter readings, or install a 1000 ohm resistor in that wire to limit the current. Who cares if the resistor burns up saving the controller.

That isn't the way to fix the issue and bad advise IMO. Also putting the ammeter inline doesn't do anything but get a reading.

That wire provides power to the controller for dynamic brake aka walk away brake.
Did you ever have the cart slow down on you with the buzzer beeping? It is kind of unusual for 2 controllers to have the same issue.

No buzzer on a hunting cart. Did get everything wet when stuck bad. I think this started my problems Still not sure how much mud these things can take an intend on taking a little easier in the wet stuff.
