Default New speed sensor and still problems

All, I am new to the golf cart game and am in need of assistance. I have an electric 08 Club Car DS. The cart was running well until about 2 weeks ago and then started surging and running slow. It was quick off the line but then stuck at 8 mph. I did the speed sensor test and it failed so I bought one off of Ebay and installed it. This didnt help. Still the same problems. No regen braking and it will free wheel. What should I test next? I am new to this so detailed instructions are appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like a bad speed sensor. Recheck all connections. Also check the magnet in the end of the motor. If it is broken or missing you would have the same type problem.

Check motor magnet and see if damaged just as mentioned earlier

Looking at the magnet it looks fine. Do you think the speed sensor I bought is bad? What is my next move? Thanks

Do I need to remove the magnet to inspect more thoroughly? How do I remove it? Thanks

If the magnet is in backward it will not work. I learned that on this web site.

I never changed the magnet. The cart worked fine when I first got it and then started giving me problems. Changed out the speed sensor and still had no luck.

You must have gotten a bad speed sensor. Or there is a connector loose somewhere.
