Default What is the box mounted to the frame of a Club Car DS

Anyone know what the long rectangular box mounted on the frame under the seat of a 1996 Club Car DS is? If so where does the black wire coming out of the rear of it go? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Will

I'm no expert. There are many on this site that are. But a picture of the box may help others to get an answer for you.

Does it look like this? Is the black wire you see it, or is it a much larger black wire?

Probably the voltage reducer. Cart have lights ? Drivers side frame rail. Drops 16 volts from two batteries to 12 to run headlights.

voltage reducer. One wire should be on the negative of I believe the back battery and the other will be the negative for your wiring ground.

That could be. B- on the controller, the other wire to your light negative and pick up the light positive 2 batteries up. Volt meter should tell you.

From looking at the wiring diagram I believe the driver's side back battery is where the negative wire for the pack gets connected which would then go to B- on the controller. Your + for your lights would come from the front driver's side battery +. The negative for the lights is the extra wire from the reducer.

Battery pack main (-) and controller B- are electrically the same connection.
