D&D or EMP
I am in the process of finishing the mods on my cart.
96 club car with z lift and 22" tires - cargo bed and front basket. 48V completely stock right now I want to upgrade motor/Controller/etc to make it more capable off road. I am interested in the following package from EV Drives evdrives.com/product_p/gk-81-25.htm I'm also interested in the HD two speed option that EMP builds. I want good torque to power through mud and got up small hills and through the woods, as well to carry weight- I also want to go approx. 22 MPH any input on these two options? any other recommendations ? |

PlumQuick, sponsor here for the motor and scottyb Carts unlimited for the controller etc. Service unbeatable!
I've dealt with Carl at EV drives, he is a good guy but don't like or want D&D motor. JMO! |

+1 for Scotty B for the controller, great prices and even better customer service. I called EMP, D&D and Plumquick for motors for my 72 volt club car. Plumquick was the only one willing to build me a motor for my application.

Re: D&D or EMP
Though they are not a sponsor, the motor and service I got from EMP was far better than I had hoped for. Not one complaint. For a controller package I would definitely go with ScottyB at carts unlimited. Some day I hope he comes up with a 500 amp plug and play package for a G29.

Re: D&D or EMP
I went with ev drives and happy with results. I spoke with poehl for some questions I had and very supportive. But if you read this forum often you will find plum and Scotty to get the same reviews. I think the sponsors are all good and obviously back up their products and offer support. You need to find the product you want and find the right deal for you.
I have read on here z-lifts Are not for club cars go jakes or all sports Good luck on your search and finding the right deal for you. |

Re: D&D or EMP
I vote D&D all the way, excellent customer service and super fast delivery. They deliver exactly what they promise.
If D&D says they can't build you a motor for your application it is because they are looking out for you, the motor life and battery life. Worst thing you can do is get a wrong motor for your application that draws way too many amps at full throttle cruising killing your batteries in only a year or two and also dangerously overheating the motor causing it to fail early also. |
