Default 1984 36v Club Car DS motor

Hey Folks, it's been a few weeks since I last posted a problem concerning my golf cart due to moving and family sickness. I thank all of you that helped.

After determining that the solenoids and micro-switches are all working fine and the motor is getting a charge but is not turning, we've determined that it is the motor. I purchased one on Ebay but it is not the right one so I'm returning it. My motor is a GE MODEL # 5BC48JB691 A.

Do any of you have one for sale or know where I can purchase one? As always, I really appreciate your help! Happy Weekend!!

There are motors for sale in the for sale section on the homescreen of bgw just make sure you know spline count. Also get hp & rpm from old if you want the same or to get improvement. I guess thats whats wrong with your latest spline count?. You can also buy new from sponsors or send old for a rebuild by sponsors.

Hi and thanks for your reply, I'm not sure what a spline count is, how can I obtain that?

Its most likely 10. But who knows who did what before you got it. Its the ribs on the end of the shaft of motor that slides into axle.

Thanks again! I just counted them and there's 16 ribs on this one. I did buy this used and I'm not sure that this is a factory motor. I've lost track of the seller so I can't contact him.

I looked up your original motor it is a 19 spline and lists new in the 600's. I would suggest you contact plumquick or d&d to see if they can rebuild yours. Its series and they can get more umph for you and less $ than new. It may only take a couple weeks to get it back and worth the wait. Good luck my friend.

Thank You so much for all your research. I went out and counted again several times and I came up with 16 spline. I also found one on Luna Industries Website. Here's the link: http://www.lunaindustriesinc.com/clu...ies_motors.htm. My motor looks just like the last one listed on their website. The posts are in the same place and It's advertised as a 16 spline external. It's $300. I called them but they are closed today. I am going to contact the people you suggested and see what they'd charge to rebuild mine. I really appreciate all the help! You sure made my research easier! Hope you have a great weekend!

I also found out that it is a 1983 motor. Club Car changed to a 10 spline in 1984. So my golf cart is a 83 and not an 84. Again Thanks much!
