Default Cart Just Suddenly Stops Running!

Cart Just Suddenly Stops Running! I have a 48V 2001 Club Car DS. Sometimes when I step on the accelerator pedal the cart does not go. This does not occur with any predictability. The cart will run fine for days, and then all of a sudden, it just won't go. It doesn't seem to matter if the cart has been sitting fully charged or if it has been run for a while. Voltage on the batteries all read around 8.5 volts. I hear the usual click when I depress the accelerator pedal, but nothing happens. I can leave the cart sit for a while and try it again and it will work just fine. This occurs regardless of whether I am in forward or reverse.

Any thoughts on what might be happening and how to test it?

i would start by checking battery wires for corrosion and loose nuts

Thanks for the tips guys, I have checked all the battery cables and they are clean and secure. Which solenoid should I check, and how can it test it?

Thanks Shadowman. I'll give that a try and report back.
