Default 36V Older Club Car / Lester Charger Help!!

Hey guys I am looking for some help with my 1982 36V club car DS charger.
It is a lester charger. Model 13800. when I plug the cart into the charger I hear a click and the transformer hums but my amp meter reads zero.
I have read that some say if your battery pack is below a certain voltage your charger will not kick on, is this for the newer ones or is mine the same?
I don't thnk my batter pack is that low because it is still drive able but just is getting tired and needs a charge.

as for the charger can anyone point me in the right direction on how to test it out or what to look for

. . . could be either a blown fuse in charger or bad capacitor . . . check those first . . .

It sounds as if the charger is coming on..... you said it clicks and hums. Maybe the ammeter is bad. Hold your test meter on the battery pack and watch for an increase while somebody plugs the charger in for you.

Yeah i get the relay click and the transformer hums buy amp meter shows 0. I was at the cottage and didn't have a test meter so i just left the charger on for a good 4 hours or more then took the cart out and it didn't have any more charge from before so i figured its something with the charger
