Default Club Car 2007

I have a 2007 Precedent I bought new and it has been a great cart till this year. I was losing power so I replaced the batteries and after charging did not have full powere and the cart was completely dead after 9 holes. Towed home plugged in the charger and blew a diode instantly! Had charger fixed and the cart was on the charger for 2 days. Still did not have but have the speed I had before and I can walk faster up hill. Charged again for 2 days and cannot get more than 38 volts out of the battery pack and 8.6 volts on the individual batteries. Charger run very hot batteries nearly boil while charging. Charger never dropped of 15 amp charge through the entire cycle. Batteries or OBC?

Could you post a photo of the battery pack. Sounds like maybe a battery is hooked wrong.

Sounds like at least one bad battery. If you have a bad battery, that charger will not shut off, and probably won't ever get below about 12 amps. If that is the case, you are ruining the good batteries.
I've done that before.

There is your issue. You have 4 8v batteries in a 48v cart. Those type of Precedents are designed for 4 12v batteries

Oh **** how did I miss that and how did interstate miss that when I carried in 4 12 volt batteries! My expectation is the experts send me home with 4 12 volts! I will be visiting them tomorrow. Thanks a bunch as many times as I have hovered over this cart I did is not catch it!

That proves a photo is worth a 1000 words.

If they don't switch the 4 8v batteries with the 4 12v batteries, tell them to refund your money and that you are going to buy batteries somewhere else. That is ridiculous and that shouldn't happen. Just out of curiosity, did they charge you for 4 12v batteries or 4 8v batteries?
