Wrap or Paint ??
Already sunk some money into a lift and tires on this ol 92. Want to do a camo wrap but I am not a DIY so local shop said wrap runs about $350.
Or do I just paint it myself with a rattlecan or a brush. Something simple like green or black? |

Re: Wrap or Paint ??
Why not rattle can camo? It's pretty easy to do and touch up.

Re: Wrap or Paint ??
google how to spray your own camo paint
some methods work well, some look like a 3 yr old did them i'd say you can do your own camo for about one quarter of the vinyl wrap and touch up would be easy |

Wrap or Paint ??
Do a CAMO DIP!!!! Wish I had done that instead of wrap! Homemade rattle can is a good inexpensive way to go if you know you will be rough on it.

Re: Wrap or Paint ??
I bought a few cheap stencils from hobby lobby and drew a few on some can drink boxes and cut out with a razor knife. After the camo job I coated with helmsman spar varnish as a little durability factor. Not a pro job but it's on a Deercamp special. IMG_1386.JPG

Re: Wrap or Paint ??
Well....IMHO, if you want to keep the cost down (AKA cheap) then do what I did to this el-chepo Stevens rifle. I used Rustoleum paint. Now, in all fairness, my wife's an art teacher and she has an eye for this "stuff." But she helped me out a lot and told me to do the base color dark, and then go with the lighter colors as I sprayed over leaves, branches, and ferns that I picked around the house. I let the coat dry to almost perfect dry...as Rustoleum takes time to dry....but it's very "hearty" paint. As you can see I did the stock, barrel and scope. The paint holds up well to some tough usage and touch up is a breeze. Now, I did the barrel and scope separate from the stock. That's why the two colors are a bit different. But I will tell you the fox and raccoon don't seem to mind a bit.
BTW, I used 3 different colors on this. A dark green, a light green, and a tan. FWIW |

Re: Wrap or Paint ??
I used a cheap gravity gun and premixed auto paint. I think it was 100 all in on my cArt. On my kids carts rattle cans. They look good for us but I can appreciate what guys do on here with their carts and really good paint jobs.
