Precedent amplifier location
I would like to install and amplifier with an auxiliary jack to play music from an ipod/iphone. My hang up is, that I can't decide on where to mount an amplifier without blocking off the dash trays. I think I could squeeze one of those mini Pyle amps into the battery compartment, but was hoping to use a little better quality components. However, the marine amps I am finding are fairly large. Can anyone share some pictures of where you mounted an amp without sacrificing the front trays?

Re: Precedent amplifier location
I set a battery powered Bluetooth speaker in one of the front trays and connect it wirelessly to my iphone. Allows me to remove the speaker when I want and eliminates any issues with noise from the motor drive or battery draw. Its plenty loud enough for me.
One of my neighbors sets a BlockRocker on the rear flip down seat and heads off. That thing is the size of a small suitcase, but I will concede that you can hear him coming from a block away when he cranks it up. He says he can get 8 hours of run time on one charge. |

Re: Precedent amplifier location
Thanks. I'm going to pull the cowling off and see how much room is in there.

Well, not much room under the cowl. Gotta keep looking.

Re: Precedent amplifier location
I recommend the SA4.50. It is a tiny (literally fit in your rear pocket) little amplifier with lots of power that will power 4 speakers with no problem and best of all, it is extremely efficient and won't draw much current. I have been using these amps with with great success. This amplifier is much better than the amp you mentioned. I find myself in the same situation, deciding where to mount my amp, but will post some pics of where I will install.

Re: Precedent amplifier location
Thank you. I was hoping to not loose all my pockets in the dash, but I may have too. I really do not want to put my voltage converter and amp in with the batteries.
TahoeDawg - is that a sub box mounted above the rear axle? |

Re: Precedent amplifier location
I just installed a sound bar in my cart and it' sounds pretty good. It works of my phone via Bluetooth. You should check it out.
