Question 48V Club Car troubles

I am trying to figure out a problem on a 48V club car. I have tested the solenoid and checked the switches at the FNR lever everything seems good. You hit the accelerator and the solenoid clicks but no movement. I checked voltage at the motor has 48v at 2 of the wires and like 6 volts at the other 2 which would change to like -.3volts when the solenoid clicked and varied up to zero volts at full throttle so the potentiometer seems to be working. I am new to the carts but I am an automotive technician by trade so I am familiar with reading diagrams and troubleshooting. I just dont know what voltages I am supposed to be expecting.

what year and is it a reagan vcart or non reagan............non reagan will have 1 solenoid and reagan will have 2 of them.............what happened when it quit? start with basics grab and pull and tug each cable and clean put back on and make sure they are tight............check voltage from each battery write #,s down, than load test each one write #,s down.........you say you tested solenoid........jack rear of cart up and jump large post on solenoid with a 6 gage cable tuen key on put in gear and press pedal if wheels start spinning replace solenoid if not we,ll go from there so post all the battery voltage #,s here and we,ll have an idea........does the cart charge ok? try timing it from the time charger starts till it shuts off so once you start leave it go till its done..............BTW welcome.............................

it is a non reagan only has one solenoid. I am not hearing anything from the controller when you hit the pedal normaly you hear the high pitched squeal of the controller but it is getting nothing. only the solenoid click. they said that they were riding along just fine and it just quit. he found a wire from one of the switches broken and they repaired it but still nothing after that. What exactly does the obc do? I figure it basically tells the controller if its ok to go if so is there any way to bypass it to test the controller. I checked all the cables I told him to put it on the charger.

the OBC controlls charging system..........jack the rear of the cart up and get a peice of 6 gage cable and turn key on put in gear and jump large posts on solenoid......press pedal if wheels start spinning replace solenoid............as for the OBC on the solenoid theres a small yellow wire bolted to one of the small posts................get about a 5 ft 14 gage wire with alligator clips on each end........jump from the small post on solenoid with yellow wire to the negitive terminal of #6 battery thats the rear battery on drivers side......with the jumper wire on press the pedal if cart runs replace the OBC...........the one thing that bothers me is the noise coming from controller there shouldn,t be any type of noise it should be very quiet as in not hearing anything from it at all..........still need the year?............you have checked the cables right? grabbed and pulled and tugged and twisted........they are tight and clean......you have tested battery voltage right have you load tested them......if you didn,t do any of that do so before you run any of the jumpers i speak of.....also pinpoint that noise make sure its the controller and not the motor.........does the cart charge ok? the charger comes on when you plug it in? in most cases when a cart just dies when your driving along its either the controller or the OBC .......... even thought the OBC controlls the charging it will also kill the cart and not allow the cart to charge.....if your cart is a 1995 to 1997 what color is the controller ? black ? if so thats a real crappy controller and are iknown for their failure............so check the basics battery voltage and cables than jump the solenoid, if that isn,t it than bypass the OBC if thats not it i would say controller..................................

I was told it is an 03 model but he wasnt sure. I will check the stuff again and see if it charges. This is my girlfriends dad so Im not getting much info from him. The controller is silver in color looks like just a normal aluminum. Thanks for all your help so far.

well at least it dosn,t have the junk controller if its an 03.......................................
