MCOR Issues?

Okay so I've installed new Crown CH-165 Crown batteries as my cart had 3 that done gone bad. I've also installed a PQ Executioner motor as well as a set of 2 gauge cables. And while the cart rolls very freely I'm still not overly trilled with the speed 20 to 22 at best on the flat and 24 to 26 going down hill...

My question is can a faulty/worn MCOR have any affect on top speed? I ask this as I've got some jerky and retarded operation when first starting out. I do have a replacement on the way.

Where do I go next for more hill climbing torque and a little more speed? I'm guessing an HD Solenoid and high amp controller are in order? Who best to get these from and part numbers would be most appreciated?

BTW my cart is an 2011 Excel model...

I question the condition of the other three batteries that haven't yet failed.

I questioned them too, that's why they are were all replaced....

I misread. I thought he only replaced the three bad ones..... Which controller are you using? I wasn't aware that PlumQuick made an Executioner motor for the Excel system.. Did PlumQuick know you had an Excel cart when you ordered the motor?

Curtis 250 amp controller. As to the motor I bought it from forum member mymonstertruck but he removed it from an Excel cart that was built very close to mine and he was getting better than 30 mph....

I also wonder if I'm expecting too much from an electric cart as I do live in a very hilly and large HOA with a round trip to the marina being least 2.5 mies.

Did he also have a 250 amp controller? Executioner motors crave power. 250 is stock.

I don't know what controller he was quoting the est speeds as I see his cart has a 500 amp controller. I will upgrade the controller within the next couple of months and I've got a big relay ordered.

You need to find out which controller he was using... I've heard that there is now a such thing as a 500 amp excel controller that will play nicely with high speed motors. After you figure that out I'll be able to help you more.
