It is not impossible for the tie rod ends to slip a few threads when the wheel is hit hard in the wrong way. I would just re adjust the wheel alignment and keep an eye on it. You may find the threads on the tie rods may be stripped.

If it slipped inward the nut would be tight. This may not be the problem, in the absence of any other signs, I would adjust and keep an eye on things.
