Default electrical smells hot

Hello I have a 94 36v CC resistor cart so far have added 4ga cables a new soleniod and a PQ Bandit motor. Not suse about the speed but it was a nice increce, we had it out and admitedly running it pretty hard stoped to talk to some people and I noticed a hot electrical smell. Didn't see any obvious reasons but the cart dosen't run as good especialy on a grade what would smell like it is hot V-glide, cables, coils, batteries any ideas are appreciated

Forgot to mention new batteries last year (off brand didn't know there was a difference, price you pay for being new)

Check to make sure wiper arm in vglide is going all the way to last contact when GO pedal is on floor at WOT. If not, you're still powering thru the resistor coil(s). Will have to adjust. Check contacts in vglide to make sure they have not overheated and melted the housing around the contacts. May have to remove drivers batteries #'s 5 & 6 for this inspection. Check your FnR switch for signs of overheating. Is it a HD FnR? Make sure EVERY electrical connetion is clean and tight. Inspect connections for melted insulation. This would indicate your aroma? Resistor carts like WOT and not slower speeds for long periods of distance. I had to adjust my driving to be either WOT or coasting. I also did a vglide bypass for high speed last contact. Keeps the high speed amps out of the vglide, reducing possibility of melt down. If all checks out, might look at the motor. If its overheating, i'd call PQ. Just some possibilites to investigate.

Appreciate you getting back to me looks like the v-glide is the culpriate contacts aren't melted but certianly are chared a bit. Tired of electrical issues called Scotty B and pulled the trigger on a solid state conversion kit. With the PQ motor it ought to work well Will update cart status as it gets done thanks again DD
